Scientific activity

Much of the research carried out in our team is related to the themes of communications and quantum computing. One of our aims is to use the potential of semiconductor quantum dots to create an efficient spin-photon interface and, in the longer term, to demonstrate spin-spin entanglement on a device. To this end, we are seeking the best systems for defining robust qubits with long coherence times and coupling them to light in carefully designed photonic structures. These qubits are manipulated coherently at resonance by light pulses. New systems such as NV centers in SiC are also being explored, with the advantage of emitting at telecom wavelengths.
