Scientific activity

Research in our team focuses on the study of charge and spin transport, as well as the thermoelectric and thermal properties of low-dimensional systems, such as 2D materials (graphene, transition metal dichalcogenides) and molecular layers, and in hybrid structures coupling these materials. We are also investigating the properties of 2D material stacks in van der Waals heterostructures, and exploring new technological approaches using graphene and/or carbon nanotubes as “contacts” on molecules towards fully carbon-based electronics.

Our device architectures vary from lateral to vertical geometry. All our devices are manufactured in the MPQ laboratory’s clean room, and hybrid interfaces are created in collaboration with the ITODYS chemistry laboratory at Université Paris Cité.
