Scientific activity
The Quantronics group develops quantum electrical circuits: magnetic charges and fluxes behave as quantum-conjugate variables, such as position and momentum in quantum mechanics. The circuits are manufactured using superconductors or two-dimensional electron gases, and measured at very low temperatures.
Our experiments range from understanding the Josephson effect in superconducting circuits to heat transport in the quantum Hall effect, including understanding supercurrent through weak semiconductor bonds, circuit electrodynamics, materials with very high kinetic inductance, the dual Josephson effect, and the design of circuits with topological properties, to name a few recent activities.
