Scientific activity

The quantum many-body problem is an outstanding challenge that requires advanced simulation methods. Our team has a double expertise in the classical algorithms developed over the past decades (e.g Monte-Carlo algorithms, tensor networks, dynamical mean field theory) as well as in the recently emerging quantum algorithms, namely algorithms aimed at quantum processors, whether analog or gate-based, whether for the near term (variational quantum eigensolver, error mitigation) or the long term (phase estimation, qubitization…). We either compare the performances of classical and quantum algorithms – for instance, to understand where quantum processors can bring an acceleration – or combine them to take advantage of their respective strengths.
