Scientific activity
The team’s research themes are :
- Ultrastable optical link and applications: ultrastable frequency and time transfer via optical fibers, ultimate performance studies and applications as ultra-sensitive sensors, development of the REFIMEVE research infrastructure, development of links with the main European metrology laboratories and contribution to European clock comparison campaigns, stabilization of lasers on the REFIMEVE signal.
- Compact comb: Development of compact, transportable 1.5µm frequency combs for time-frequency metrology, based on semiconductor devices.
The aim is to explore the possibilities offered by semiconductor combs developed in the field of optical telecommunications for frequency metrology applications, in particular the development of compact, transportable devices. Dedicated instrumentation has been developed to transfer the stability of a frequency reference down to the 10-15 level. Work is now focusing on the detailed study of noise in these lasers, and on comb stabilization methods.
