Scientific activity

The research work of the COSMIQ project-team is essentially devoted to the design and security analysis of cryptographic algorithms, in both classical and quantum contexts. They are motivated in particular by the fact that cryptography is currently in a relatively fragile situation: the security of available primitives, whether symmetric or asymmetric, is indeed threatened by recent advances in cryptanalysis or by the possible construction of a quantum computer. Most of our work combines fundamental and practical aspects of information protection (cryptanalysis, algorithm design, implementation).

The COSMIQ project followed on from the SECRET project on January 1, 2020 (which in turn followed on from the CODES project on January 1, 2008).
