Abstract: This PhD project pioneers the use of quantum-sensing Transition Edge Sensor (TES) detectors for high-precision x-ray spectroscopy of antiprotonic atoms at CERN’s ELENA facility, providing a novel platform for probing strong-field quantum electrodynamics (QED). By integrating cutting-edge quantum detection with antimatter experiments, the project advances quantum metrology and sensor technology in extreme conditions. The candidate will develop advanced simulation frameworks (Geant4) to optimize TES performance, contributing to the next generation of quantumenhanced precision measurement tools with applications beyond fundamental physics.
